Some travel vaccinations are available free of charge on the NHS, while others need to be paid for privately.
When clinically appropriate for travel, the following vaccinations are available free on the NHS:
Hepatitis A
Typhoid
Polio, given as part of the combined tetanus, diphtheria and polio (Td/IPV) vaccine
Other travel vaccinations are not routinely available free on the NHS when required solely for travel. These include:
Hepatitis B
Rabies
Japanese encephalitis
Tick-borne encephalitis
Yellow fever
If you require a vaccination that is not available through the NHS, you may need to arrange this through a private travel vaccination clinic, a pharmacy offering travel health services, or a GP surgery providing private travel vaccinations.
Yellow fever vaccination is only available from designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres.
